CEO of ShelfGenie, Andy Pittman, featured on this morning with Gordon Deal

CEO of ShelfGenie, Andy Pittman, was interviewed on This Morning with Gordon Deal, a radio show and Podcast covering business news in the U.S. and around the world.

The show highlights Pittman as an individual franchise owner who made a good, upper management candidate. Pittman details his journey from owning a number of ShelfGenie franchises in North Carolina, moving into the role of COO, and finally, becoming ShelfGenie’s CEO.

“What’s it take to open a ShelfGenie franchise?” Deal asked.

“We’re looking for people that can recruit, manage, and train people,” Pittman said. “You don’t necessarily have to be the best at anything, you don’t necessarily have to know how to install things. We have fairly in-depth training, so we’re looking for people that are comfortable with recruiting people, training them, managing them, building a team. If you can do that, you can generally be successful with ShelfGenie.”

“We provide all of the back-end support,” he continued. “You don’t need an office, you don’t need office personnel. We answer all your call for you. We book appointments. We have an internal marketing team, so, we take all of the back-end work off of the franchisees, which is one of the things I loved about it.”
