Andy Pittman, ShelfGenie’s CEO, published a guest column with two prominent, local news outlets. In “North Carolina economy is roaring as small businesses prosper,” Pittman discusses how the growth of small business is helping boost North Carolina’s economy.

Pittman discusses the effect of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the federal tax relief legislation that went into effect earlier this year.

“There are several North Carolina businesses that have publicly stated how the tax relief package has positively impacted their businesses and employees,” he states. “For example, Ghostface Brewing — based out of Mooresville — hired more employees and purchased new equipment, allowing them to increase distribution of their beer.”

Pittman relates owning a small business with owning a franchise. “While the brand may be associated with a larger parent company, the day-to-day operations and staffing decisions fall into the hands of franchisees who are independent owners,” he says. ShelfGenie has franchise outlets in North Carolina benefitting from the federal tax cuts and state economy.
